EZ
ELENa ZANZU
EZ explores the power dynamics and pact between artist and audience. EZ is a project around vulnerability, negotiation, consent, pain and care.
What happens when a human body is consensually tied and manipulated on stage? What reactions – physical, emotional and cognitive – occur in a person being manipulated, in a person manipulating and in a person observing the manipulation? Is there space for care? Can we laugh? Is it a ritual?
Questioning binarisms such as activity/passivity, domination/submission, male/female, pain/pleasure, artist/audience, EZ invites to the generation of safe(r) spaces where consent negotiation and care can manifest collectively.
EZ – which means NO in Basque – is an invitation to the YES, which is only possible when NO is also an option.
